Do I have to commit to all four layers?
No. One layer is fine. The Activation Audit ranks them by impact for your specific business, so you'll know which layer to start with. Most engagements start with one or two and grow from there.
What's the difference between a project price and a retainer?
Website is project-priced (defined scope, defined deliverable, sixty days of support, then we step back). Marketing, Lead Gen, and Loyalty are rolling-scope retainers (flat monthly fee, scope flexes, cancel any time). The model fits what the layer actually demands.
What's the smallest engagement you'll take?
Marketing starts at $100 a month, pick a single service and pay for that one only. Project work like the Website has a $1K kickoff floor, with installment plans up to 12 months on bigger builds.
Do I have to use 8CRM, Team8s, or 8Host?
No. Bring your stack. We integrate with HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Slack, Cloudflare, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Zapier, whatever you already pay for. Our products are optional. We built them so we could use them on our own agency work, then opened them up for clients who want them.
Can I cancel a retainer mid-month?
Yes. Thirty-day notice, no termination fee, no clawback. The work you paid for is yours to keep, including all assets, accounts, and source files.
How is this different from a typical agency?
Project-priced where it makes sense (no padded discovery billables). Rolling-scope retainers (no fixed deliverables you can't change). Sixty-day post-handover support (most agencies disappear at handoff). The founder runs the engagement, not an account manager.
Do you do all four layers in parallel, or sequentially?
Either. Most engagements start with one or two layers and add as the foundation gets stable. Running all four in parallel is fine for funded teams that have the cash flow for it, but it's not required and rarely the best move on day one.
